I have enjoyed and gained much from their program since they first began presenting it on SBS, as 'The Movie Show', many years ago.
Their often conflicting exposes' of new releases and classic movies has played a vital role in my own selection of movies.
I have enjoyed their banter, along with Margaret's passion, fabulous fashion sense and squeeks of amusement and David's cool calm deliberations and sometimes disdainful expressions.
The gap they will leave in my week is immense, their understated mark on my small screen enjoyment indellible.
It's sad that the ABC is not intending to continue some form of film review show, as Margaret begged, in a reformatted form.
Thanks to both of them for years of dedicated, often insightful reviewing and commitment to the Australian film industry!
Both sit proudly amongst my idols and influences and yes, fabulous "reality television!"
There certainly remains a place for worldly, experienced, mature presenters with exceptional knowledge of the field, as opposed to "cute" young people television so favours to front programs.
Here's to long and happy retirements to them both!
